Upcoming patch 3.2 and Battleground XP

Patch 3.2, now on the PTR, should finally allow "pacifists" to grind by getting XP for attaining various battleground objectives. No indication how much XP, but Blizzard is probably doing this, at least in part, to help people get to 80 before the next expansion, so it should be non-trivial. I'll see if I can test it out on the PTR, but old BGs are usually empty on the PTR. UPDATE: official word is that it will be somewhat slower than questing or grinding, but that's miles ahead of my options now!

Flag capping has been reduced from 10 seconds to 8 seconds, so I might lose my Glyph of Psychic Scream, which increases the duration from 8 to 10 seconds and adds 8 seconds to the cooldown. I often use it to try and cap a flag, so having it last as long as it takes to cap really helps. But with the shorter cap time, it won't be worth it. (On the other hand, most everyone else already thinks this glyph is worthless).

Apologies for the completely off-topic comment, but just had to say "hey". :) Just ran into you in Dalaran while I was finishing lighting some of the lamps that get missed.

Congrats on level 52! Sweet geebus, you've got the turtle mount from fishing, I'm jealous. Yessir, I am.

Hey, i didn't know about Windle's Lighter until I saw you lighting lamps! I'll have to get one myself.

There's no achievement or XP related to Windle's Lighter, it's just one of those quirky fun things I like doing. (Besides, Dalaran looks nice with all the lights lit, in my opinion.) :)

There looks to be a bunch of torches in your half of Dalaran, but I find it tricky to get back there without gettin' my arse booted back out to town proper. :(

Well I just did a few WSG's on my 39 druid, and I got about 1100 xp per flag cap (didn't matter if I capped it or if someone else did), and I got about 2k for winning the match. I'm not sure if the xp scales by level (i.e. did the lower level people in the same BG with me get the same or less xp than I did?). All in all it's not too bad, just slightly less than you get from questing, but keep in mind that you're usually killing mobs associated with the quests, so the xp gain per-time spent is about half in the BG comparatively. I guess it's not a bad way to break up the monotony of questing though once in a while.
